Jute Box

An experiment during my junior year at RISD with the help of friend, Kevin Remy. We set out to create a give away box containing items from various artists around the RISD community. We then divided the boxes and handed them out to strangers.

We made 50 boxes out of a renewable jute-hemp fiber, heated to 350° then pressed into shape with a two part wood mold.

Each artist involved created one item for each of the 50 boxes. Such as stickers, ink prints, puzzles and a flash drive with music.

Special thanks to Daniel Christenson, Mackin Brinegar, Daniel Thompson and Jake Reeves.
