Moonrise Festival
Moonrise Festival commissioned Ambo Studios for their 2016 festival in Baltimore, Maryland.

Our prompt was simple: Create an engaging space for festival patrons to experience digital art - while dodging the 95° heat.

Our solution involved a network of geodesic, enclosed domes, connected via a short tunnel.
​
The first dome housed a central light sculpture, outfitted with two high powered short throw projectors. Connected were three freestanding custom midi controllers with several simple buttons and sliders. These controls would allow several people to influence the video collaboratively, influencing the videos colors, timing, and various pixel based effects.

The second dome functioned as an abstract planetarium. The interior was entirely projection mapped with a 180° immersive video. The film was created in Cinema 4d and After Effects.
